This beautiful terracotta bust of a female was created by George Morin, (1874 – 1950) and is signed on the back. She wears a headscarf and gazes demurely downwards, with locks of hair framing her face. She has an almost wistful look, and the attention to detail is excellent.

Georges Morin, born in Berlin in 1874, emerged as a prominent figure in German sculpture during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His artistic journey began at the Berlin Academy of Art, where he honed his skills under the tutelage of esteemed masters Ernst Herter and Peter Breuer—influences that would profoundly shape his distinctive style.
