Bronze Bust

A life sized bonze head-and-shoulders bust of a woman in foreign dress, having long loose hair over a jeweled bandeau and having an embroidered edge to her costume. It is signed by the sculptor, L. Savine.

Leopold Pierre Antoine Savine was born in Paris in 1861. He was a pupil of Injalbert and became a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais in 1888. He was a regular contributor to their Salons until 1920. He won the bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
