This marble Venus and cupid is wonderfully executed by the sculptor Morel. The female form, soft and fluid, her nakedness accentuated by a drift of drapery, contrasts with the ruggedness of the rock she is set against. Little Cupid, with his arms about her neck, seems to float as he balances on the toes of one foot.
