This highly attractive clock was made in France C.1860.
It has a white marble body lavishly mounted with ormolu, which has its original gilding, cleaned but otherwise untouched. The clock is surmounted by a patinated bronze of a reclining maiden in classical dress languidly regarding a pair of love birds.
