Mahogany Cabinet

DSCF4952.JPG

This Louis XVI style marble top cabinet was made in France, C.1900. The upper part is glazed with plush interior, the lower blind door beneath a single drawer is quarter-veneered in mahogany, as are the curved sides. Fluted pillasters decorate both upper and lower portions and the whole is mounted in ormolu, which retains its original gilding. The galleried top has red marble veined in white, and the whole stands on neat tappered feet.
