These finely executed sculptures, after the antique, are carved from white marble and date to the second half of 19th century. They are, of course, Diana the Huntress with her stag, and the Apollo Belvedere.
They are often paired together, the rather active pose of Diana contracting with Apollo's calm and detached air. They were made in Rome.
