Henri Bouchard was born in Dijon in 1875. Working at a Burgundy ornamentalist to learn the basics of sculpture, from the age of 20, he left for Paris and the School of Fine Arts.
Then, resident of Villa Medicis in Rome, he begins to abandon the ancient art for subjects of everyday life.
He returns to Paris and continues his career in this realistic way, describing nature, men and animals. Where he continued to work until his death in Paris in 1960.
