These coupes, with their shallow patinated bowls and gilded handles and stems, come from France and were made in about 1860. The simple beaded border and classical foot contrast well with the naturalistic modelling of the handles, which are fashioned to look like vine branches with grapes. They stand on tall handsome stepped black marble plinths.
