Alabaster sculpture of a Boy with Birdcage.

This charming sculpture is Italian, late 19th century.
It is fashioned from alabaster and is signed Pugi on the back.
The child is depicted in the nude, but for a little drapery, his birdcage is open and he seems to be gazing into the distance, as though his eye is following the the flight of his escaped charge.
