Surprise Bar


This surprise bar is made of oak. upon opening the top doors the internal surface rises up. It comes with a suite of cut crystal glassware, which fits into recesses in this surface.

Marble Group of Bacchus and Ariadne


This marble is a Grand Tour piece "after the antique" and depicts Bacchus with his arm around the shoulder of Ariadne as he draws her cloak about her.

Walnut Bureau bookcase


This late 19th century bureau bookcase is made in the style of the early 18th century.

Marble Athena


This beautiful classical sculpture represents Athena, the Greek goddess of War and the Martial Arts. It is a 19th copy "after the antique", of a Greek or Roman original.

Alabaster Light


This large urn was in fact made as a light, having a bulb inside the base. It is made of translucent white alabaster (with natural markings) and is in two parts, dividing above the fluting.

Pair of Bronze Urns


This very attractive pair of urns is French and was made in about 1850.

Alabaster Bust of Child


This charming bust of a child was made in Germany, C.1900-10.
It is signed by the artist, R. Kuchler.
Underneath it bears a bronze button with the initials "RvM".

Marble Cupid


This sculpture, in "zuccherino" marble is French and was made in about 1860. It shows Cupid with his hands bound behind his back.

Edwardian Revolving Bookcase


This very smart piece of furniture is mahogany, crossbanded in satinwood. the mechanism is metal, giving smooth and easy turning.
Rather surprisingly it takes over 2m 30cm of books.
